Aluminum Scrap Taldon
(Used Beverage Cans)

Aluminum Scrap Taldon, also known as UBC (Used Beverage Cans), refers to compressed aluminum cans mainly used for beverages. These are collected post-consumer use and serve as an essential raw material for recycling and producing new aluminum products. The use of Taldon is not only sustainable but also economically advantageous as reusing aluminum requires significantly less energy than producing it from bauxite ore.
A flattened UBC must have a minimum density of 14 pounds per cubic foot (225 kg/m3) and a maximum density of 22 pounds per cubic foot (353 kg/m3) for unflattened UBC. Size: Bale range dimensions are 24" to 40" (61 to 132 cm), 30" to 52" (76 to 132 cm), and 40" to 84" (102 to 213 cm), with a minimum volume of 30 cubic feet (.85 m3).

Four to six 5/8" (1.6 cm) x.020" (5 mm) steel bands or six to ten #13 gauge steel wires (aluminum bands or wires are permitted in equivalent strength and number) are the only approved tying methods. Skids and/or support sheets made of any material are not permitted. Material must be magnetically separated and free of steel, lead, bottle tops, other plastics, glass, wood, dirt, grease, rubbish, and other foreign objects. It also cannot contain any steel, lead, or foreign objects. Any unpaid lead should be rejected. All aluminum products, excluding old beverage cans, are unacceptable. Any modifications to this specification must be approved by both the customer and the seller prior to shipment.

Aluminum Scrap Taldon is usually sourced from waste collection centers and undergoes various processes, including shredding, de-coating, and melting, to extract the pure aluminum. Given its origin, it's imperative to ensure the absence of contaminants before remelting.
